early morning, early mishap

We headed out just after the sun met the horizon this morning so I had enough time to go home and get ready for a 9:30 meeting. We had a nice, quick run around the beach, running in to only a few people and dogs.

All that early hustle and bustle for nothing, though. I ended up having to postpone my meeting. At some point while I was taking shower, Tempest injured herself. I came out of the shower finding her unwilling to walk. Either she smacked her back leg good on the dog door (or something else), or she was bitten by a monster spider. She now has meds to keep the pain at bay while we wait a few days to see if it gets better.

Looks like Riptide and I will be beaching it alone tomorrow.

[Riptide checks out a Oregon Ducks beach chair that's been there for a couple of days now, while a lone surfer gets ready to enjoy the large waves.]

[When I looked away from the ocean, I saw the sun peeking out from the palm trees.]

[On the way out, we found a couple of other pups enjoying the morning.]

Absolutely gorgeous sky, worth getting out early for. Tempest must be coming out in sympathy with Desmond! Hope she’s fit again soon.

well, it appears the mishap might have been more of a case of “over protective mommy”. tempest is walking with the slightest of limp this morning. happy she’s not injured badly, but nice way to throw my day in a tizzy yesterday!
