Lighthouse Beach (north of the lighthouse) used to be a place where dogs were allowed to roam off-leash, but in recent years “some lawyers meddled,” according to one local and “ruined everything.” It may not be a legal place to take your dog for some untethered fun, but you’d never know it. We had plenty of company both days we visited.
I’ll have more tomorrow with more dogs and local flavor, but here are a few shots of this small, but beautiful and friendly beach.
This is the beach facing north. We went back later when the tide was further out and walked under the arch.

Wow what a pretty beach. That light house is awesome. The 2nd picture w/the tunnel thingy TOO COOL. GREAT PIX OF TEMPTIDE PLAYING. THE BEACH LOOKED AWESOME IN THAT LAST PICTURE.. glad you had a great time!Bell & her mama
That looks cool, I can't wait to see more.licks and sniffs, Sasha
What a beautiful and fun-looking beach… I'll bet the tunnel is fun when the tide is out.
Looks like a pretty cool beach!! We'd love to take a walk there!!
hey – what a great way to trash the beach! But you pay taxes and are entitled to trash it with your dogs shit and piss, right?COngrats
I agree Oz Girl & Jeanne! Too bad Anonymous is ignorant to the fact that the people at the Santa Cruz beach are taking very good care of it. Not a "land mine" in sight, and it spells pristine. In fact, it's such a short beach with multiple tides, there wouldn't be a chance for anything to stick around for very long. The only "trash" I saw on this beach was a dead seal. And someone made a wreath and placed it on the poor thing. SO very Santa Cruz.
wow Jen.. I wonder who wrote that. LOL.. I just had some girl telling me that I dont exercise Bell enough.. ha ha ha. I do need to get her nails trimmed but.. to say I dont exercise her enough is rediculous. I'm glad you're back again either way.. Have you made a drive by yet @ dog beach? Just curious what it's like.. Bell was a "BAD GIRL" yesterday so I gotta take her out today LOL.. KIMBERLY
We just got back from a visit to our home dog beach a few minutes ago, Kimberly. Lovely as ever.
